Applications for the 2020 Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance will be accepted
online from September 1, 2019, to December 15, 2019.
For those who participated in the 2019 Concours, we ask that you please submit an application for a different car than the one shown at the 2019 Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance. It is a key component of a true Concours d'Elegance to offer on display rare, historic, original and restored as original, vehicles that are rarely seen in public. This is one of the many factors that sets a Concours d'Elegance apart from "car shows". You are now part of an elite group of individuals who participated in the Inaugural Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance, a first for Tampa! But you can still be a part of the 2020 GCDE. Please consider joining is with your beautiful concours vehicles from 2019 at the Friday Night "Cars in the Park" Cocktail Party & Charity Auction.
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, undoubtedly the most famous Concours in the country, states "we generally do not allow cars to return to our show field within a ten-year period unless they have changed ownership and are freshly restored (or they are an original preservation car). "
Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, another one of the finest Concours' in the country, states "Once a car is accepted to the Concours, it cannot again be entered in the event for five years, with three exceptions; the ownership of the car has changed, the car has been restored, or if the featured marque is obscure, the Concours car selection committee can reach out to invite cars of varying restoration quality—or cars that have previously been entered in the Concours—in order to provide a healthy representation of the marque for exhibition".
Please do not submit an application and then show your car elsewhere while it is under our consideration. Vehicles that are displayed in any event that describes itself as a "Concours" within these 5 counties- Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Bradenton and Polk (excluding our partners with the Lake Mirror Classic) in the 12 months prior to GCDE, will impede the decision to accept the car.
Anyone can submit a vehicle for consideration!
By definition, a Concours d'Elegance is by invitation only.
The vehicle cut-off year for the Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance is 1979.
The marquee theme is "100 YEARS OF AUTOMOTIVE EXCELLENCE"
and we are currently seeking the best example of the
1920 vehicle of historic importance.
Please feel free to submit your suggestions!
Several factors are taken into consideration for accepting
a vehicle for the Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance.
* the original nature of the vehicle
* the quality and condition of the car
* the historical importance of the vehicle
* the nature of the restoration as original
* the overall rare qualities of the vehicle
* the "wow factor" that appeals most to the spectators of the event.
The participants are selected by a qualifying committee comprised of a team experts in the field of original Vintage & Classic vehicles.
Those vehicles who have participated in the past Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance, or which were not selected to participate in the 2020 Saturday Concours d'Elegance are invited to participate in the:
